Boekhandel van Rossum

*The font and blue color of the bookstore caught my eye!*

If you read my blog post called: AMSTERDAM | Japanese shops, food and more! maybe you remembered that I would make a post about a very cool bookstore in Amsterdam.

My friends and me were having a good time walking around in Amsterdam discovering Japanese supermarkets and stores. Then we came across "Boekhandel van Rossum". It was on the same street as the Meidi-Ya store which we visited too.

We spend almost a half hour walking through the bookstore and checking out the books they had. It felt so cosy inside, very warm and welcoming. The dark brown color of the bookshelves took part in that, I must say. But not only the interior made us feel welcomed, also the people that work there did. They are very friendly! It looked like they were family, haha.

They have a broad set of books which ranges in novels, scientific books, history books, books about psychology and plenty more. On the right side, in the back of the store, there is also a section dedicated to younger readers.

A thing I very much appreciate from bookstores like Boekhandel van Rossum is that it barely feels like a store. It isn't strictly organized. The books aren't stacked up perfectly next or on top of each other. So it makes you feel like you are looking through somebodies bookshelves at home. Such a plus!

Whenever I am in Amsterdam I would love to visit this bookstore again and maybe bring a interesting book back with me. So yeah, I don't have nothing negative to say about Boekhandel van Rossum. It was great!

If you are interested in visiting this bookstore don't hesitate. Especially for booklovers :). Next to that there is a lot more to see in and around the street where the store is located.

Japanmarkt 2014

In memory of the visit from the Japanese emperor, which he made to Rapenburg, the Japanese museum "SieboldHuis" organized the "Japanmarkt" for the 7th time! This is an annual event which takes place in the city Leiden, not far from the Central Station. The theme of this year was: "Miniature in the Japanese culture.".

It took place on Sunday the 25th of May. It was open from 12:00 pm to 17:00 pm.

A video I made of the event

I must say it was pretty fun! There was a lot to buy, eat and see. It got very crowded later on the day, which on the contrary, was very pleasant. For me it showed how much interest there was in this type of markets.

My Japanmarkt goodies
Of course I did not left empty handed. I had to buy some snacks at least, for there were plenty!

Very delicious mochi, which I unfortunately left to get fungus after a few days. My boyfriend told me they were best to be kept inside a fridge. Something I forgot to do... Luckily I had small bites of both of them before they got nasty.

These were soooooo gooood! Matcha green tea cookies with some chocolate in the middle <3.

Some yaki something? Forgot the name of it. I will be sure to update this post with the correct name, hihi. It had red bean paste inside and it was very good too!

I'm glad I went this year. It was a beautiful day! Hope to go next year too.

Thank you for reading! I would appreciate it a lot if you would subscribe to my youtube channel, KasumiKrissTV!!! There will be a lot more fun video's up soon :)!

Rotterdam | Vroesenpark

These pictures are from a couple of months ago, when it was still pretty cold outside (lol what am I saying, my country's weather is always cold!). But yeah, it was colder than at the moment now. That didn't withhold my boyfriend and me from chilling outside. We often take a walk outside, read a book or sit on a bench somewhere to catch some fresh air. I think it's way nicer than being stuck inside the house.

* Run pidgey, run!

I used to run a lot in this park, do exercises and stuff. Next to that it is a perfect chilling spot for in the summer time on warm, hot days! The place will be crowded with people everywhere drinking beer and having a BBQ. We went on a day when it looked like there was literally nobody, but that didn't make it any worse :).

Annoyed goose!
So there were two gooses, minding their own business. Then all of a sudden Tatsuya interrupts them.

*Goose notices Tatsuya getting closer*

*Goose is not amused*

"Yo bro!"

"Come at me bro!"

" me.......QUACK!"

Did not do my hair, if you haven't noticed!

Cute-fake-rainbow-inflatable-bunny-duck. That's right, you read it right.

Really love this picture!!

 Reading some books
I don't think you might know this, but Tatsuya and me are huge Game of Throne fans. We love the series, so we decided to start reading the books. Yeah, I know, "better read the books first!", I agree with you on that one, but I rarely read books. Now that time changed though. Reading books is awesome! Haha. I'm super into it and can't wait to start reading other books. I want to read as much as possible before season five starts next year.

This is a page from the first book. I am done reading this and already busy with the second one :).

I read the books in the Dutch language. Just for a simple reason, I am Dutch. People asked me why I don't read the English one. I know it is nice to spike up my English vocabulary and stuff, but  I speak English for almost 80% of my conversations each day. The rest is Dutch and Spanish. Maybe some percentage in Japanese, hehe. Then again, I felt like reading the Dutch one. Probably some day I will read it in English.

He reads in English.

After spending some hours outside we went back home to make some pancakes. I have become a pro at it, I must say. These were soooo good! With cheese, bacon and some more cheese. Also some plain ones. The ones with cheese are awesome with honey on them O_O. We ate them on the balcony, so we could still enjoy the sun.

Now I think about it, I haven't ate pancakes for like three months! Damn, I need those in my cheatdays again <3.
